Famous Azerbaijani pianist Nargiz Aliyarova will perform in New York

Nargiz Aliyarova was born in Baku, in 1968. In 1986 she graduated from the Bulbul Music School with a gold medal and entered the Azerbaijan State Conservatory. In 1991 she graduated from the Conservatory with Distinction and her success as a student resulted in being awarded a Lenin Scholarship. Aliyarova started working for the Baku Music Academy in 1992, first as a teacher, then a senior teacher, an assistant professor and ultimately, in 2010, she was appointed a position as Professor at the Baku Music Academy.
Aliyarova is a Philosophy Doctor. She produced her thesis “Sonatas for Violin and Piano of Azerbaijani Composers” in 2001 and subsequently has published twelve articles, two workbooks and a tutorial.
Since 2002 Aliyarova has been a member of the Azerbaijan State Piano Trio. She performs in the Azerbaijan and beyond: she has travelled to Turkey, Germany, Italy, France, Austria, Slovakia, Croatia, Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Georgia and Moldova, giving concerts as a soloist, as well as a member of various chamber ensembles, chamber orchestras and symphonic orchestras. To further develop her talent she attended Rachmaninov International piano courses and other international courses in Germany and UK.
In 2008 Aliyarova took the second place in the Pietro Argento 11th International Competition held in Italy. She was declared a laureate of the competition and awarded a medal. In the same year she was declared an Honored Artist of the Azerbaijan Republic. In 2011 Aliyarova was awarded a diploma “For outstanding contribution to the legacy of Chopin” by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Poland. In 2012 the Azerbaijan Commission of High Attestation awarded Nargiz Aliyarova the distinguished title of Professor.
In 2009 and 2010 she recorded two compact discs in Turkey. In February of 2015 Belgian Recording company Etcetera released her CD with Chopin’s music. In 2015 CD “Nargiz Aliyarova plays Chopin” had been nominated to the highest reward of Azerbaijan – Governmental Award. Recently Etcetera also released the other disk of the pianist – which contained sonatas by Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. The fifth compact disk of the performer – “Nargiz Aliyarova Plays Azerbaijani Music” has been released with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Republic.
