Azerbaijan’s tolerance traditions highlighted in Los Angeles

An Azerbaijani delegation visiting Los Angeles met here Paul Koretz, member of the City Council, AzerTag state news agency reported.

They discussed tolerance traditions in Azerbaijan, the country`s role in the relevant field, history of the ancient Jewish community of Azerbaijan.

Koretz handed over a message of thanks to the delegation addressed to Azerbaijan`s mountain Jews.

The letter says that Los Angeles city appreciates centuries-old tolerance in Azerbaijan.

The visit of Azerbaijani delegation took place at the initiative of Azerbaijan`s Consulate General in Los Angeles. The delegation met members of the Board of Directors of American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and American Jews Committee`s Los Angeles branch.

The Azerbaijani delegation included Deputy Head of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Gunduz Ismayilov, MP, Yevda Abramov, Chairman of the Religious Community of the Mountain Jews of Azerbaijan Milikh Yevdayev, Avraam Isakov.
