Chingiz Abdullayev: “Heydar Aliyev, a unique personality in Azerbaijan’s history”

Chingiz Abdullayev, Azerbaijani writer has shared with day.az his memories about Heydar Aliyev, an architect of modern Azerbaijan.
“He was a very unique personality in the history of the country,” Abdullayev said. “He saved our country in 1993. It is not an exaggeration but a mere historical fact.”
The writer noted that Heydar Aliyev saved Azerbaijan from falling into a deep and terrible abyss. “I can imagine how it was difficult for him to accomplish his mission. That’s why we can be proud today that he was our compatriot,” he added.
The people were waiting for him for a long time as a national hero, Abdullayev noted. Heydar Aliyev justified the nation’s expectations and rescued Azerbaijanis from the difficult situation that people were suffering from.
The writer remembered that the national leader respected people of art. Today, Azerbaijan is the only country in the world, where a union called Creative Union is included in the country’s budget. This is the merit of Heydar Aliyev, stressed the secretary of the Union of Writers.
“I have repeated on different occasions that Heydar Aliyev was a man who salvaged our country. He is a unique representative of the nation. I hope we will always remember this,” Abdullayev said.
Heydar Aliyev, who devoted his life to the prosperity and well-being of his nation, holds a special place in the history of Azerbaijan.
A talented politician and public figure Heydar Aliyev demonstrated his ability as a national leader becoming a legend even when he was alive. The national leader carried out unparalleled works for his nation during his ruling over the country under the Soviet and as the president of an independent Azerbaijan.
Heydar Aliyev came to power as the president of Azerbaijan on July 24, 1993 approved by the parliament – the Milli Mejlis.
Heydar Aliyev was elected president of Azerbaijan in a nationwide vote on October 3, 1993, and was re-elected in 1998.
President Heydar Aliyev was elected professor and full member of the Academy of Safety, Defense and Legal Norms Problems of the Russian Federation. He was awarded the premium of Andropov on April 3, 2003. On May 10, 2003, a decree was signed on awarding Heydar Aliyev the Order of Saint Apostle Andrey Pervozvanny, the supreme order of Russia.
Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev died on December 12, 2003, but the memory of the brilliant politician is still alive to this day.
