The National Flag of Azerbaijan was raised in Chicago, USA on the occasion of October 18th – Day of Restoration of Independence.

The flag-raising ceremony, took place in the city’s famous “The Daley Centre”. 

Employees of the Consulate General of Turkiye in Chicago, our compatriots and members of the local community attended the ceremony, initiated and organized by the Azerbaijan Center of Midwest America (ACMA).

The head of Centre Farid Mammadov, has told that the flag-raising ceremony is being held every year on the significant days for Azerbaijan. “The flag-raising ceremony serves as a powerful testimony of the common values ​​of freedom, independence and unity around the world. It acts as a symbol of friendship between Azerbaijan and the United States, strengthens relations between the two countries, and promotes cultural exchange.”

Consul General of Turkiye Engin Turesin conveyed his most sincere congratulations to the Azerbaijani community on the occasion of the holiday.

It should be noted that the Azerbaijani flag flew over “The Daley Centre” in front of the Chicago City Hall during a day.
