Ceremonies to Commemorate Khojaly victims in Calgary
On Sunday September 14th, two ceremonies were held in honour of those who were victims of the Khojaly Massacre in 1992. The official opening of a symbolic tree took place in Confederation Park, then afterwards a bench was officially opened in Edworthy Park in Calgary, Alberta. Chargé d’Affaires Ramil Huseynli and the Consul of the Embassy of Azerbaijan were in attendance. During the ceremonies, Chargé d’Affaires Ramil Huseynli gave a speech and cut the red tape of both of the events. Following this, an acquaintance meeting and a Q&A session regarding consulate matters with local Azerbaijani community members was held at the University of Calgary.
