“The media has reported that authorities yesterday have extended the pretrial detention periods of two N!DA members, Zaur Gurbanli and Rashadat Akhundov.   We continue to follow with concern the cases of these and other individuals arrested as a result of this spring’s protests.

We urge the Government to ensure that due process and the rule of law are upheld for all detainees, including speedy, fair and transparent trials.  We will continue to monitor closely these cases and engage with the Government on them”, – reads the statement.
