Hallandale Beach, Florida honors 28 May – Azerbaijan`s National Day

The Mayor of the City of Hallandale Beach, Florida has issued a proclamation on the 95th anniversary of establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR).
The proclamation covers historical facts on foundation of ADR “including Karabakh, Zangazur and Nakhchivan and being the first Muslim parliamentary democratic republic recognized by other democratic countries, as well as the US” on May 28, 1918.
The document says that the US recognizes the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
It also stresses that some US states has recognized important dates for Azerbaijan as Independence Day, Day of Azerbaijani Genocide, memorial day for the victims of war crimes in Khojaly massacre, and the Black January. The proclamation also underlines the role of the US Azeris Network (USAN) in presentation Azerbaijani realities to the American society and Azerbaijan community of the US. The proclamation signed by Mayor of the City of Hallandale Beach Joy Cooper declares May 28 – Azerbaijan`s National Day.
