Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel General Safar Abiyev has today met a US delegation led by Principal Deputy under Secretary of Defense for Policy Kathleen Hicks to discuss military cooperation.
Stressing the development of the Azerbaijan-Us relations in different fields, Abiyev spoke of the positive results in military sphere.
Azerbaijani minister underlined that unsettlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict remained a threat for regional security.
Kathleen Hicks praised Azerbaijan`s peacekeeping activities in Afghanistan and contribution to international anti-terror war. She noted that US intended to cooperate with Azerbaijan in future.
US ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar was present at the meeting.
